Ocean Zones Pilot Program

A structured way to test Ocean Zones in your school or district with extra support, training, and feedback tools — including First Waves for learners who are not yet ready for a 4-zone system.

Why Run a Pilot?

Many schools want to try Ocean Zones with a small group of classrooms before making a larger investment. Our pilot program gives you everything you need to test the curriculum, collect meaningful data, and make a confident decision.

Who Is This For?

We recommend the pilot for:

• Special education teams

Self-contained, resource, or autism support programs serving K–5 students.

• Small school or single site

One building that wants to test a multi-sensory SEL approach before scaling.

• District pilots

3–10 classrooms across multiple schools who will share feedback and data.

• Mixed readiness classrooms

Teams who want one SEL approach that works across a wide range — including learners with significant support needs who may need a Calm/Not Calm starting point.

What’s Included in the Pilot?

We’ll work with you to match the right materials to your context. A typical pilot includes:

Ocean Zones Curriculum Access

Digital access to the full 12-week Ocean Zones curriculum for pilot classrooms, including lesson plans, student pages, Calm Corner materials, and family letters.

First Waves (Foundation Track)

A Calm/Not Calm foundation option for learners who are not yet ready for 4 zones, character instruction, or group-based SEL. Use it as a standalone entry point or an on-ramp into Ocean Zones. Learn more →

Training & Onboarding

Live or recorded training session for participating teachers so they feel confident using the materials from day one.

Implementation Support

Email support, optional check-in calls, and access to our Support Hub for troubleshooting and adaptation ideas.

Calm Content Library & QR Resources

Access to the online Calm Content Library for pilot teachers, including breathing-technique pages, student-facing intro videos, and printable tools, plus QR-ready URLs you can use on cards, posters, and classroom signs.

Simple Data Tools

Easy-to-use observation forms and teacher reflection tools focused on student engagement and regulation skills – not heavy paperwork.

Sample Pilot Timeline

A flexible framework you can adapt to your school calendar.

Phase 1: Planning (2–4 weeks)

Identify pilot classrooms, confirm goals, and schedule training. Gather any baseline information your team already collects.

Phase 2: Implementation (12 weeks)

Teachers teach the Ocean Zones lessons and use the tools in real classrooms, with ongoing support from our team as needed.

Phase 3: Reflection & Next Steps (2–3 weeks)

Review teacher feedback, student outcomes, and fit with your existing initiatives. Decide whether to expand, adjust, or pause.
